CALIBER TRAINING
The Instructors

Meet Bryan
Bryan has experience with firearms since 1988 when he purchased his first firearm at the age of 21. He spent 25-years with the San Bernardino Police Department honing his firearms skills in multiple disciplines. He was a certified Range Master, handgun instructor, Field Training Officer, and SWAT Sniper. After retirement in Dec. 2017, he stayed on as a Reserve Officer volunteering as a Range Master conducting quarterly range qualifications for officers, conducted mandatory handgun training for officers involved in on-duty shootings, and gave extra training to officers who were struggling with their firearms skills, making them more competent shooters. He is highly proficient with handguns (revolvers and semi-autos), shotguns (pump action and over/unders), and rifles (bolt action precision, semi-autos such as the AR-15, and lever actions). Because Bryan also worked in the Internal Affairs Unit at the Police Department, he is well versed in laws concerning the use of firearms for personal defense. Bryan has given his time and money by offering 4-hour family shooting experiences at charity events that were auctioned off for as much as $1,200. Bryan also has 25-years of experience in reloading ammunition (pistol and rifle rounds) and is well versed in external ballistics.
Bryan has attended numerous firearms classes during his time as a police officer, but has also attended several classes at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute and attained the level of “Distinguished Graduate.” He is a certified NRA Pistol Instructor qualified to teach NRA certified Basic Pistol classes. Most recently, he attained his California POST Firearms Instructor/Rangemaster certification from the San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Office.
Bryan has trained hundreds of people on the safe operation of firearms; new shooters as well as the highly experienced. His passion for firearms training shows in his dedication to his students when instructing them one-on-one.

Meet Abby
Abby may be young but she has over a decade of experience handling firearms. Starting with shooting outings with her father, Bryan Lentz, she learned from the best. She has been dove hunting annually since 2012 and can hit her 15 bird limit with less than 2 shots per bird on a good day. Abby joined the Guns and Ladies, GALs, program at the San Luis Obispo Sportsman’s Association in 2018 as a volunteer shooting instructor teaching fellow women the art of marksmanship. At monthly clinics, she specialized in teaching handguns and shotguns and gained a passion for helping students gain confidence in handling firearms. She was appointed the head of organizing quarterly gun cleanings for the firearms used at the GALS clinic to educate the public on how to disassemble, clean, and reassemble various firearms for proper maintenance.
She has completed a number of firearms classes including the Front Sight Defensive Handgun course and NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting. She has attained both the NRA Basic Pistol Instructor certification and California POST Firearms Instructor/Rangemaster certification from the San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Office. She enjoys competition, from friendly timed trials to shooting competitions.
Abby has taught hundreds of students on the safe operation of firearms; from the young to the old, from male to female. Her confidence and energy are infectious as she never gets tired of seeing students improve.
